eat tofu

haha. Before y'all freak out, I am reading a book by Chad Eastham called "Guys like girls who...", and I am in his chapter "eat tofu." And no, it's not about how to get a guy in 10 days. haha. It's about girls just being comfortable with themselves, and how God made them. I'm going to show you some stuff I read that is really interesting.

Taken from "Guys like girls who..." by Chad Eastham
page 62, eat tofu

"It's amazing what people will do to their bodies to make themselves "pretty." Stretch their lips in Africa, widen their eyes via plastic surgery in Korea, dye their skin lighter in India. The United States isn't the only country that experiences social pressures to look certain ways and has people who do extreme things to fill these "ideals."

page 64
"Your relationship with God supersedes all other types of beauty. Nurturing that relationship is kind of like a daily moisturizer for you heart and soul. It affects all the other parts of you. You can be the prettiest person on the planet, but you will never be as beautiful as you could be until you let God fill you up with his truth and love.

You can have a great image of yourself because God has one of you. That means you just have to discover it. His opinion matters more that all guys' opinions put together, and the great news is, if you have faith in this, the you're already putting effort into someone and something that matters. That is a great start to having a positive self-image."

page 68
"I know you've heard it before, but it's still true: real, natural beauty never goes out of fashion...Imagine that you and your clothes are an advertisement. What do you advertise? Do you advertise relaxed, comfortable, cute, or normal? Or do you advertise something else? Maybe your advertisement is about your stomach, your body, your legs, or your chest. Does you advertisement first call attention to your body or to the person inside of it? Imagine yourself as a walking billboard and make sure you know what that billboard says."

The little bit of his book from page 68, really got my attention. What do we advertise? Not only is it easy to advertise our body, but what about our attitudes? Do we advertise a rebellious spirit? lazy? or sloppy? "Dressing modest is hottest"-Natalie Grant, but dressing modest can still be done cute and not sloppy. As Christians, lets dress to not advertise our bodies, but the Christ who lives in our hearts. And, lets dress in a way that does not show a lazy spirit(un-ironed clothes, smelly hair, etc) but one the shows dillegence, which is a good character quality to have. :)
I hope a little bit of this book has encouraged you, as it is me.

Chosen people:)

We are a chosen people-predestined. Before destiny-before we were known of, God had chosen us. It is out of our realm of understanding-but that is God. :) He is ALLmighty-all knowing-all present. God has chosen EVERY person in the world. But, some of us, have rejected him: not chosen Christ.

"...He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved." Ephesians 1:4-6

We were created, chosen men and women, to bring GLORY and PRAISE and HONOR to Christ! In our lives, love, speaking, what we say, think, touch, look at---ALL of our selves to HIS glory. This is so powerful-yet hard to do. It is impossible for we sinners to do anything perfect. We are sinners-we can never be perfect. But, God overlooks that when we trust Christ for our salvation. We are FREE from sins stain-and then in God's eyes we are PERFECT! And we can just PRAISE God with that!

I just am SO in love with God! Today, the teacher says how we need to study God's word---and I know it will be hard to start, but I want to. I want to grow close to Christ. I don't have to be good at sports, perfect in piano, or anything: 'cause in God's eyes, I am a new creature in Christ. To God be all glory and praise and honor!

Decline into Liberality

Hey guys-this is a report I had done for American Government, but I thought

I'd share it with y'all.

Decline into Liberality

Our nation is nothing like it was in the beginning. In the beginning, our country realized the need to be under God, to be Indivisible: with liberty and justice for all. Our country has abandoned our beliefs that all men are created equal. Our nation has turned aside from the belief and knowing that there is a God who rules supremely over us. Our country no long holds these truths to be self-evident: but rather has become a liberal and selfish nation, only seeking self-gain. This is the Decline into Liberality.

No longer seeing God as one to serve and to fear: but rather, as one to erase and try to be rid of. In this paper, I will briefly try to show you the steps in which our country has come. The steps leading up to our decline: the steps leading up to how now marriage between the same sexes is legal. How now our country no longer respects life to the extreme where the slaughtering of unborn children is legal, and encouraged. First, let us start at the beginning: with the Pilgrim's.

Why did the pilgrims first come to America? In their mother country of England, they were faced with religious persecution from the church and government. Their leaders thought that America would be a great place to start new beginnings: and a place to freely worship their Lord.

In 1620, the pilgrim leaders put together the Mayflower Compact: which stated their loyalty, first to God, then their earthly king, King James. This paper was signed by the men aboard the Mayflower. Shortly later, the Puritan's arrived. They also, were seeking religious freedoms. The puritans and their leader realized the importance of keeping God first. And they and their families, and others wouldn't be blessed in the New World if they did not serve Christ. John Winthrop, the first Puritan governor wrote in 1630: "Wee shall be as a Citty upon a Hill, the eies of all people are upon us; soe that if wee shall deale falsely with our god in this worke wee have undertaken and soe cause him to withdrawe his present help from us, wee shall be made a story and a by-word through the world."

The first written constitution in the new world was "The Fundamental Orders of Connecticut. I will not get into the government part of this, but I will say it recognized God as to be the base of all government. The preamble states"…to mayntayn and presearve the liberty and purity of the gospel of our Lord Jesus which we now prfesse, as also the discipline of the Churches, which according to the truth of the said gospel is practiced amongst us."

Now, lets move on to early education. The puritans, after their government, and churches were settled; they realized the need for education. "…one of the next things we longed for, and looked after was to advance Learning and perpetuate it to Pasterity; dreading to leave an illiterate Ministery to the Churches, when our present Ministers shall lie in the Dust." (written by Puritan's in 1643).

The Act of 1647 required the parents to provide the education for their children and to teach them so they will "…read and understand the principles of religion and the capital laws of the country." The textbooks used, were based on scripture. They taught from scripture---and used moral lessons and values. Although not all those who graduated from the schools were Christians, they had a better understanding of what was wrong and what was right.

The Old Deluder Satan Act the came out in 1647, realized that with out God's word, the old deluder, Satan, could easily draw the children away. So, they required towns of at least 100 households to have a primary school where children would be taught from primers which as I said earlier, used scriptures to teach reading, and writing, so that they would be able to read for themselves from the Bible.

Now, let's jump ahead to modern times. Scripture is no longer allowed to be read in government funded schools, because it may "offend someone." Also, prayer is no longer allowed, and God is taken out of the pledge of allegiance. Textbooks no longer recognize God as the creator, but they now teach evolution as a basis for science and life. But, sadly, the education isn't the only thing that no longer recognizes God.

God created man in the beginning. (Genesis 1) He also created woman-to be man's helper. In which, He created marriage to be between 1 man, and 1 woman. When our nation was started, our founding fathers recognized this-which it was a Holy thing that God ordained to be. When our nation was first started, there wasn't such a thing as "gay-right movements" and "Lesbian marches." It was illegal. Now, it is being allowed in cities and states to allow homosexual marriages.

Abortion: In the 1880's this wasn't even thought of. Even in the early 1900's. Now, a girl can get an abortion without her parents knowing. She can murder her child, and it is legal and looked upon as pro-choice. To be allowed to do whatever you want with your body. When, they aren't giving the baby the choice it deserves. That mom is murdering her child. And it is allowed. This leads me to pornography. In the 1940s, and 50s this also, wasn’t allowed. And gradually over time, it is. You can pick it up at the quick-mart, grocery store, or even online in your home. And no one is stopping it.

We are a liberal nation. Our nation can no longer be proud of the high standards and morals it had at it's beginning. Our nation can no longer be called "free" in such a lose way-for we may be free with being able to do about whatever we want, but our nation is in bondage of Satan. And unless we as Christians fall on our faces before God, and plead His mercy on behalf of our nation, we are never going to see our nation as "One Nation under God: with liberty and Justice for all" again.

From the Preacher

The book of Ecclesiastes were the words of "the preacher." haha. I thought I'd post a beautiful passage about youth and then old age. The literary beauty of it surprised me...the Preacher was a poet. :) The Bible is 1/3rd poetry, so I'm sure God loves it too. :)

Ecc. 12:1-7
"Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt way, I have no pleasure in them:
While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain:
In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened,
And the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of the grinding is low, and he shall rise up at the voice of the bird, and all the daughters of musick shall be brought low;
Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets:
Or ever the silver cord be loosed or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern. Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it."

Jesus loves me...this I know

Sometimes I really wish God was here to wrap me in His arms, and to tell me not to change and that He loves me how I am.

I am so confused...and hurt. I feel like I've changed and it's my fault that some people I used to be very close to, don't like me. I dunno. It's like I embarrass them. I have tried to change-but I like how I am. I like dressing cute, styling hair, and wearing make-up. I love being a girl who doesn't like to be dirty. I could change though-and maybe they'd accept me again-but I don't want to be a fake.
I am doing a lot of praying right now-just asking God if there is an area in my life that I'm doing wrong.

I really can't handle being hurt every week by the same people over different things. First my weight, then how I dress, and now my personality. I know God says to forgive 70x7-or to never stop forgiving, but it's so hard. I think of Jesus on the cross-how He suffered and died there. Have you ever really realized that He died because of you? and me? How our sins nailed Him there-but He still loves me. And He forgave me.

Then why is it so hard for me to forgive just little things??

I feel like a burden around people. Like-me being there will mess up their day. I may seem rude that I may not want them to walk with me...it's only because I'm afraid I'm being a burden. I'm just so confused...

Please pray that I will forgive. And that I will focus on God, not man. And that I will NOT listen to the lies that Satan throws at me.

Stop and listen

Bethany Dillon's new album is entitled "stop and listen." I was listening to what she had to say about the album, and I was so encouraged. Here is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xPRyz6im5I&feature=channel

She encourages me so much-and her music is very uplifting. This testimony about her album, really encouraged me because I've been struggling in the area of always wanting to do-like Martha. But sometimes we should just Stop. and listen to our savior.

Movie fast

I decided this morning to go on a movie fast-no ones making me, but, I just think I'll benefit from it.

What you watch, you tend to remember. I still remember movies and shows I watched when I was a baby-they were kiddie shows, but I remember them. When I fill my mind with all of the stuff now days, and all the time, I will remember that in my future. And, it'll effect me one way or the other.

"Oh be careful little eyes, what you see..."
